PSAL "B" Semifinals Results

Entering the Semifinals my prediction was Taft would defeat River dale in a extra inning game in a score of 3-2 with great pitching and defense to keep the games close, instead a high scoring game by Taft got them into the finals. And for Health Profession Bronx Science Cinderella story would come to an end as Michael Corona would pitch the game of his life.

Coming into the 2009 season River dale/kings bridge NO.1 seed in PSAL Baseball "B" division felt that they should of been moved up to the A division after making it to the semifinals in 2008 but lost. River dale came into this season confident with the starting pitching staff returning and a experience line up. River dale/kings bridge is the only undefeated team in the B division with a (19-0) record will be facing the NO.5 seed (18-1) record with their only lost to River dale earlier during the season in a 3-1 game.

At Clinton HS field Arsenio Perez got the ball to face a hot River dale team. Perez pitched 4 innings giving up two hits on three earned runs four walks and striking out five. Eliesel Then came in the fifth inning pitchin 3 innings allowing only one hit three walks and two strikeouts. Taft managed to have 11 hits Laiky Uribe and Pedro Salomon drove in two runs while Angel Romero drove in 1 on two hits.

In the other match up between HS Health Profession(18-1) and Bronx HS of Science(13-7) Michael Corona pitched 7 inning 1 hit ball game 4 walks and 15 strikeouts. Corona supported him and his team with 2 hits 2 runs, Christophe Jimenez drove in 2 runs.
Health Profession(18-1) will now face Taft(18-1) at Yankee Stadium at 4m on June 9 2009. Stay updated on my blog to hear about the team that come up on top and the team that will go home.
