PSAL "A" SemiFinals Results

At keyspan park in the past weekend i had a chance to vist the game between Madison and James Monroe. Both teams before the game looked like they were ready to fight for a chance to play in the finals. From watching both teams warm up James Monroe looked well ready and crisp in their warmups and looked very eager to get the game goin. No.6 seed Monroe had Abel Guerro pitched 6 1/3 allowed twin earned runs . Monroe recieved plenty suppoer from Jesus Vasquez who drove in a run with a sacarifse fly in the third and Wander Almonte added wit a run scoring single in the fourth. The Eagles would score 3 runs again the seventh with a big hit from Joseph Gerena`s twon run single.

The Knights came into the game with no pressure on them, they knew people would critize of how they just barely made it through the playoffs and how theyve been lucky. Coach Vinny Caiazza" Id like to play a game tomrow. Id like to see next season sart tomorow" but who could blame him his team had a memorable run through the playoffs and what can be better than have their ace Eddie Lenahan on the hill in a game with a desperate win to fight for another day.

In the second game at keyspan park between No.1 seed Norman Thomas and No. 4 seed JFK my prediction is Norman Thomas winning both games and advance to the finals still undeafeated, and thats what happend in both games. In the first game between these two team Norman Thomas defeated JFk in a nail bitter 7-6 with a base running mistake error to end the game. Thomas the day after winning will defeated kennedy in a mercy rule 14-0.It started in the second with runners at the corners and one out.

Shortstop Frank Estevez fielded a routine three-hopper off the bat of Darlyn Gonzalez. Rather than taking the out at first, he went home, bounced the throw, allowing one run to score and setting up Jerry Mena’s RBI ground out. It got worse from there. Thomas scored three times in the third and fourth in the fourth, aided by errors by second baseman Jonathan Nevarez and right fielder Roberto Cabral, to put the game away.

Stay updated on my blog to hear about the "B" semifinals and Norman Thomas and James Monroe at the championship game friday June 6.
